CLAY-lunarphasesAs a fun, culminating activity following a lesson about the phases of the moon, our awesome fourth grade students at Clay Charter Academy worked in cooperative learning groups and recreated the lunar phases using Oreo cookies. Students described the changes in the observable shape of the moon and wrote about what the various lunar phases would look like over the course of about a month. After accurately modeling the shape of the moon’s phases using the Oreo cookies, the students worked together to place the phases in order.
